HPC (Fun &) Games
This time honored contest is designed to test the mettle of high-performance computing (HPC) teams. Entries are solicited for demonstrations of virtuosity in high-performance computation. Each entry must document it's approach to solving a well defined problem and describe the hardware and software to be used. Each entrant will then be given one hour at SC2001 to solve their problem live and describe their computation to the audience. At the conference, a panel of judges will rate entries in speed, distance, and style.
New for the SC2001 games is the first annual high-performance computing (HPC) quiz bowl where teams made up of four experts from your institution compete for the first place crown. Other games involve competitions for the most heterogeneous and most distributed applications as well as those examining a TeraByte of data. What does the data represent? How fast can you store, send, and analyze a TeraByte of data? Speed and accuracy will be key. Join us at SC2001 for lots of games and lots of fun! |
